Then you get the ball rolling looking at wedding venues, you’re quickly immersed in scrolling through hundreds of beautiful locations, and the choice is totally overwhelming!
I often think that searching for a wedding venue is similar to house hunting: you will probably discover what you don’t want more quickly than what you do. But overall, it’s about getting a good gut feeling about a place when you visit and being able to imagine yourselves getting married and celebrating there.
So, what sets Bignor Park apart from all the others?
Breathtaking Setting
The venue is absolutely stunning. From the sweeping lawns looking out to the panoramic South Downs views, to the intricate and beautifully tended formal gardens, and the statuesque pink Georgian house. A Mediterranean inspired backdrop just 90 minutes from London, what’s not to love?
Reliable Experience
We’ve been hosting weddings since 2011, and 2026 marks our sixteenth season.
I have been the weddings co-ordinator from the very beginning, so I’d like to think I know a thing or two about what works (or doesn’t!), and I’m always excited to help couples bring fresh ideas to life.
We have a wide choice of experienced catering and marquee providers from our approved list, and a detailed list of trusted suppliers for everything else, so as you build your supplier base you can be reassured that you will have people on your side who both really understand the venue and are likely to have previously worked together.
Exclusivity
Our wedding couples love the sense of space and privacy that we can offer at Bignor Park.
We host around fourteen weddings per season, and only ever one per weekend, so you will never be asked to clear everything at the end of the night for another wedding happening the next day.
Unlike many country houses, Bignor Park is not open to the public, so you won’t have random garden visitors wandering through your wedding drinks.
You also have two full days to set up before your wedding. This is a game changer, both for your stress levels to have time to perfect your wedding vision, and also for your budget by creating elements yourselves rather than paying suppliers. The set up days help to extend the whole experience, and you can also have unlimited venue visits during planning to get to know the place really well.
Flexibility
Other than choosing from our approved lists of caterer and marquee companies, Bignor Park is very much a blank canvas. This gives you flexibility to create the day you really want, rather than having to shoehorn your creative plans around a limited venue package. Dreaming of donkeys serving drinks from panniers on the South Lawn? We’d love to help make it happen.
We’re particularly flexible on your wedding drinks – you can provide all your own drinks, we don’t charge corkage and neither do any of our approved caterers. It’s a simple policy that gives you more choice and can make a significant difference to your budget.
Quirky unexpected details
We’re a dog friendly venue, so if your dog is a valued family member, they are very welcome. We are happy for cars to be left overnight, and we have unlimited capacity for parking. And if friends or family would rather stay on site than book accommodation, they’re welcome to camp in the grounds at no extra cost.
