Discreetly located on the Bignor Park Estate a couple of miles away from our principal wedding venue, Ha’penny Hill is a stunning grassy meadow, perfect for wedding couples looking for a relaxed, country wedding reception.
Rudyard Kipling described the South Downs as 'blunt, bow-headed and whale-backed', Hilaire Belloc called them ‘the great hills of the South Country’, and it is this iconic panorama, so essentially West Sussex, that encapsulates Ha’penny Hill. Walking up towards the brow of the hill, the vista generously opens out with uninterrupted views of peaceful, rolling countryside that are truly magnificent.
Ha’penny Hill faces south and west, so basks in the best of the day's sunshine and enjoys spectacular sunsets at dusk. After dark, the night skies are filled with dazzling stars – the skies above Ha’penny Hill are totally unspoilt, indeed it lies within the International Dark Sky Reserve of the South Downs National Park.
Bignor Park has exclusively teamed up with Tents N Events to host a limited number of field marquee weddings at Ha’penny Hill from July to September each year.
Tents N Events provide a stunning traditional canvas marquee to accommodate up to two hundred guests, together with the infrastructure required for your wedding such as lighting, walkway, portable toilets, catering tent, and generator. All catering requirements are supplied by one of three Bignor Park approved caterers: Petal and Feast, The Gourmet Chef or The Naked Food Company.
The South Downs provide a setting of inspirational beauty that can lift the soul. It is rare to find a wedding venue that embraces such a magnificent backdrop in the way that Ha’penny Hill does.

(Please note that as this is a new venue, the photographs of marquees on this page and in the gallery are typical of what Tents N Events can offer but are not situated at Ha’penny Hill.)
